SEEING IN BLACK AND WHITE
What is it about a monochrome photograph that speaks so loudly to us? Stripped of the distraction of colour the composition, shape, form, light, tones and textures all contribute to the emotional response we have to the image. Colour images are literal and show us the world as we see it on a daily basis. Yes, they can be beautiful but a monochrome image grabs our attention, as it is an individual’s interpretation of the world, presenting it in a different way and revealing the wonder and soul of the subject. In a world full of colour monochrome photography can make your images stand out from the crowd.
Learn how to see your compositions in black and white and how to process your images to their best advantage in the PhotographySchool.NL’s one day, Black and White Photography workshop on Sunday the 6th of April with guest instructor Dawn Black. The skills learned on the workshop will stand you in great stead to see in black and white before you even release the shutter and then how to maximize the potential of that image in Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro.Workflow from capture to final image ready to print will be covered using examples from landscape, street, portrait and still life imagery so no matter what your special interest is, you will gain a lot from this session.
