PhotographySchool.NL is pleased to announce that the Advanced Photography Course will run in April 2014. The Advanced Photography Course is made up of four modules which can be taken all in one period or over multiple periods. Each module is designed to make sure you truly understand the photographic element of focus and to provide you with real-world opportunities to practice that knowledge.
On the Advanced Course you will be moving out of the studio and into everyday situations like sports events, the beach and breathtaking Dutch landscapes, in order to apply the skills you have learned. There will also be an added emphasis on photo critiques and getting the most out of printing your images.
The Modules
Composition
You’ve got the rule of thirds down to a fine art but now you are looking for a new way to shape your subject and add creativity to your images. In the composition module we will do just that. This module is made up of a 3 ½ hour session in the studio followed by homework and online feedback of your assignment images.
Shutter Speed & Aperture
You know how to control shutter speed and the impact on your photos that it makes but now you are looking for more opportunities to practise what you know and get those dynamic photos you are after.
In love with aperture-priority or totally hate it? Either way, the aperture part of this module is going to have you taking advantage of your f-stops.
This double module is made up of one evening of theory for shutter speed and one evening of theory on aperture. Following these evenings we will head out to photograph a sports event and visit some beautiful Dutch landscapes in a combined day trip. After the excursion, we will have a further evening to review and critique the images that the group managed to catch. Homework and online feedback are also part of this module.
Exposure
We’ll cover everything you ever wanted to know about exposure in this module. Starting with a theory session in the studio we will then move outside, where the ever changing conditions will put your exposure knowledge to the test. Homework and online feedback follow the day portion of this module.
Light
Spend two evenings in the studio working with the studio lights to become comfortable and inspired by light. Evening one will include some theory before you head off to the studio to work with the lights. Evening two will start back in the studio with a model(s) before looking at the results as a group. In-between the two evenings will be the opportunity for some homework and online feedback, ensuring you are getting the most out of your time in the studio.
